From Rachel & Alon:
We officially opened Rachel's Kitchen on February 14, 2005. We spent
nearly 3 years side by side cooking, making coffees, and engaging our
regular customers in conversation and banter. In that time we were
written about in The Boston Globe, Boston Magazine, The Boston
Phoenix, and more. We were featured numerous times on The Phantom
Gourmet, highlighted on the local ABC newsmagazine Chronicle, and
mentioned in a variety of Boston guidebooks.
In 2007 as we began to
work on opening
Hungry Mother, a full service dinner restaurant in
Cambridge, we found it increasingly difficult to be in both places at
once and decided it was time to make some changes. Rachel, not
wanting to completely let go of Rachel's Kitchen, went out and found
the perfect partners - they have experience, drive, and great
personalities. As is evident in their words that follow - its as if
they were destined to take over the space, the day to day operations
and carry on the tradition of keeping that little spot on the corner a
bustling hub of Bay Village...
From Erin & Megan:
We are Erin and Megan. Best friends for fifteen years, our
entrepreneurial spirits are the glue that holds us together.
Having owned and operated a breakfast and lunch establishment in
Western Mass for a few years, we wanted to see what Boston had to
offer. This is how we found Rachel's Kitchen, and it was love at
first sight. Then we met the namesake, Rachel, and that was love at
first sight too!
For us, it was never a matter of whether or not we should re-open
Rachel's Kitchen, it was a question of how fast we could re-open
Rachel's Kitchen.
So, if you're looking for the place where the person behind the
counter is smiling and ready to chat and make you delicious food
with love and care, please join us at Rachel's Kitchen.
